What is one of your weekend worship services like?
Our worship services might best be described as "celebrative." The music is upbeat, encouraging, and energizing. The Bible-based messages are designed to apply to real-life issues. We believe going to church is not about religion--it's about developing a relationship with God.
What should I wear to church?
We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. Dress casually and you'll fit right in.

What activities are there for my kids?
The Children's Ministry desires to create a sense of wonder and discovery as children learn Bible truths in an educational and entertaining environmint. On Sundays, you can bring your children to Sunday School at 9:15 am (There are class options for adults as well at the same time.) During the sermon, Children's Church is available for children, ages 3-6, in Room 1. On Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm, we offer Bible Adventure Club for ages, preschool through 5th grade. Nursery care is provided for infants up to age 2 during Sunday and Wednesday night activities.
How do I become a member?
In the Church of God (Anderson, IN), there is no formal membership--if you are a Christian, you are automatically a member. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved." (Acts 2:47b)
Are there opportunities to serve others at Woods Chapel Church of God?
Definitely! There are many, many ways to get involved at the church by volunteering some time or muscle-power, such as...mowing, snow removal, providing snacks for children or youth programs, helping serve at our monthly senior adult fellowship, etc.
In addition, WCCOG partners with Hillcrest Ministries (a transitional housing ministry) as an apartment sponsor. WCCOG assists with on-going maintenance of the apartment as well as providing financial support. There are many opportunities to be involved in this project.

How do I schedule a baptism or a wedding?

Whom do I contact if I have an urgent prayer concern?
WCCOG has a Prayer Chain which effectively communicates urgent prayer needs to the congregation within minutes. For more information, contact the church office at 816.373.8559 or email wccogoffice@sbcglobal.net.. Please let the church office know of any pastoral care needs, such as surgeries, hospitalizations, deaths, etc.
How can I get tithing envelopes and/or a record of my giving?
The church treasurer will provide you with tithing envelopes and a quarterly summary of all your giving. For more info, contact the church office at 816.373.8559 or email wccogoffice@sbcglobal.net. Soon, you will have the ability to give to WCCOG online. This option is currently under construction. Please check back on our homepage periodically.
What classes are offered at Woods Chapel Church of God?
Woods Chapel Church of God offers Sunday School classes for all ages from 9:15-10:15 am on Sunday mornings. In addition, there are special studies geared for men, for women, and for couples. Contact the church office for details on those study groups (816.373.8559 or wccogoffice@sbcglobal.net.
