STAFF BIOS

What a privilege it is to serve as Pastor of Lakewood Way Community Church.  My wife, Kristel and I come to you having ministered on staff together in Oklahoma City.  Prior to that, we served congregations in Indiana.  I attended Anderson University-School of Theology and Mid-America Christian University.  My passion is to see people’s lives transformed by the power of Christ.

LEAD PASTOR
I find my greatest pleasure in helping to equip people, assisting them in discovering their spiritual gifts and their life purpose.  We take great pride (the healthy kind) in our children:  Ley and his wife Hannah, Bryan (attending the University of Oklahoma), and Collin – who lives with us and goes to Blue Springs South High School.

Laurie Freeland
I am honored to serve Lakewood Way Community Church as Associate Pastor of Worship Ministries. My own spiritual development has been very deeply and positively influenced by Christian music.  Even so, I am still often amazed at how God uses music to open and soften people's hearts, to move them into His presence, and to reveal a glimpse of Himself.

We are blessed to have many talented and giving musicians at LWCC.  As a team, we are committed to helping people connect to God through worship.
I have been married to my best friend, Tom Freeland, for 33 years and together we have two wonderful grown children and one wonderful son-in-law:  daughter Mandy and husband, Dustin; and son, Drew.

I am the newest member of the Lakewood Way Community Church pastoral staff.  I am a high-energy and passionate person with a deep desire for knowledge and reaching others with the love of Christ.  I have a BA from SW Baptist University in Religious Education and a Master’s degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary.  I have been married to my bride, Maeghan, for eight years and we have three amazing children.  I look forward to the opportunity to minister to the students and young adults of LWCC.
